To develop and refurbish the poster and paper store

Scope of Works: Full refurbishment of BFI’s poster and paper store including Replacement of the existing HVAC systems serving the stores and removal of all redundant HVAC services to the roof of the building, Removal of existing plant enclosure on roof, stripping off existing waterproofing and replacing with new, Removal of windows / louvres and blocking up openings, removal and replacement of stair core and main internal doors, Reconfiguration of existing ground floor reception area to create a new paper storage area and layout room, Improvements to airflow and air tightness within both storage areas, Replacement of lighting, fire detection, gaseous fire suppression and electrical systems. Building designed to maintain an environment of 13 – 19 deg. C 40 – 55% RH. Challenging project as the stores remained live for the duration of the works meaning Arcade had to provide temporary solutions for maintaining the environment, protecting the collection and providing safe access for staff.
