Ensuring efficient ventilation to scientists working to beat cancer

 

The redesign of a complicated ventilation system for a building housing both windowless
laboratories used by oncology scientists and technicians, and traditional offices.
The new state-of-the-art ventilation system needed to be controlled centrally, and
installation completed within a live environment with minimal opportunity for
shutdowns.

Key challenges:

  • A 24/7 live working environment with minimal opportunities for shutdowns
  • Differing requirements for laboratories and offices housed within the same
    building

Solutions:

  • 12 team members worked efficiently together on site to deliver the fast
    installation
  • All work was completed within the live environment and only required two 4-hour
    shutdowns
  • The experienced design team ensured that the system was fit-for-purpose ahead
    of installation
